September Foodie Pen Pals Reveal Day!!

September was my second time doing Foodie Pen Pals, but this is my first reveal post since the first time I participated I never got a package (nor did the person I sent to acknowledge receipt of her package). I was a bit discouraged after the first time, but I decided to give it another try and I'm glad I did!!

I received a wonderful box from Sandy in Iowa! She lives near Amish country, and she likes shopping at a little grocery they have and some of what she sent was from there. Without further ado, here's my box!!

— The cinnamon-sugar kettlecorn was delicious!! I still have a little bit left, but I'm trying to make it last because it's so good! In her note, Sandy said "It is so addicting" and I would definitely have to agree with her on that!!
— I haven't had a chance to try the tortilla strips yet – been waiting on just the perfect meal (not to mention that they got buried in the pantry and I kind of forgot about them). We have salads on our menu coming up, though, and I'm really looking forward to adding some extra crunch on my salad!
— The Oriental snack mix was definitely interesting. I'd not had it before and I'm glad she sent some to try!
— My 8 year old son LOVES the dehydrated marshmallows! He's been asking for it in his cereal at breakfast and he's been having Lucky Charm-like cereal for a while. I tried some too and they really are good!
— The Apple-Cinnamon English muffin slices were really good!! I toasted them lightly and put strawberry jam on them. Apple butter would have been nice, but I didn't have any.
— I haven't had a chance to try the egg noodles yet as I've never cooked with egg noodles before and I'm not quite sure what to do with them. But after talking to Sandy and googling them, I'll probably be making them for lunch someday, maybe with some steamed veggies! They're Amish, so I just know they're going to be good!
— Cookies Seasoning. It smells really good! The bottle of it in this picture managed to come open in the box during shipping and it was all over everything. Sandy, out of the goodness of her heart, sent me another bottle, and that one arrived all in one piece! I'm really looking forward to trying it next time we grill hamburgers. And next time I do chicken in the crockpot, I'll be adding some in.

Beside all that yummy goodness, Sandy sent me a recipe for Steak on a Stick and I'm really looking forward to trying it out! It sounds delicious!!

Now, after reading all that, don't you want a Foodie Pen Pal of your own?? Here are the details!

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

If you’re interested in participating for October, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.

You must submit your information by October 4th as pairings will be emailed on October 5th!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Foodie Pen Pals package!!
