Catching up

It's been way too long since I've written, and I'm not even going to try and remember everything for almost the past month. I'll get the highlights and that will have to suffice.

I had my first record PT test since before Thomas and I did really well on it. I scored a 281 – not quite as high as I had hoped for, but still, a pretty decent score 6 1/2 months after having a baby!! I need to work on my situps more and that will get my score back up. The best part about the test?? My best-ever 2 mile run time – 16:37!!! Almost 30 seconds faster than my previous best!! I never thought I'd see a time in the 16s for my 2 mile. All my running has paid off!

Speaking of running, I've been a lot more consistent with my running, in part due to Robert running with me, training for a 5K! I've been running to daycare with the empty jogging stroller and picking the boys up that way. Thomas loves the stroller, and even the day he had been fussy all afternoon at daycare, once we started rolling, he was giggling and kicking up a storm!! Running is good for him as well as me. And Robert runs alongside the stroller. It's nice having a little running buddy.

And more about running, but only partially. . . I'm definitely going to be getting faster. Robert can now ride his bike without training wheels and he wants to ride everywhere and all the time. So after we run home from daycare, via the school so he can get his bike from riding it in the morning, we'll either take the long way home or we'll bring Thomas home and I'll run with Robert while he rides. And boy can he ride!! I've had some stints of around 6:30 per mile pace trying to keep up with him.

Speaking of Robert, he now has THREE loose teeth – the two top front ones and one bottom one. This is setting up to be an interesting summer of no teeth.

Not to leave Thomas out, he's sitting up by himself now and he loves playing while sitting up. He's also started to get on his hands and knees and rock. It won't be long before he starts crawling! Robert can make Thomas laugh like no one else can with his funny sounds and antics. I really need to get a video of him doing that sometime. Thomas was 16 pounds, 4 ounces and 26.5 inches long at his 6 month appointment, and it's no wonder with all the food he's eating! He's still nursing about 6 times a day (including once or twice at night still) and he has baby food at breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. He loves pretty much everything we've put in front of him, so that's a good thing. We've been introducing new foods every couple of days or so, and he's even had some "real" food that I've either just mashed for him (bananas & sweet potatoes) or run through the food mill I bought (asparagus – didn't care much for that, broccoli (loved it), squash, etc.). I even gave him a few small chunks of sweet potato and he tried with some success to put them in his mouth.

On the work front, things are going well. I'm counting down the days until I start out-processing (21 days) to leave here and move to Ft. Rucker, AL. I really love it here and don't really want to move, but it was time to go while I still had a choice of where we were going to go next. It will be nice being closer to the east coast and closer to home, but I'm definitely going to miss Arizona.

I'll leave you with a couple of videos of the boys. . .
