Oktoberfest

Today was another long day.  We had PT this morning at Reservoir Hill and we ran down and up the hill 3 times with a lap around the parking lot after each time back up.  It was a good workout, but wow.  LOL  After PT, I headed right to work since formation was at 0800 and in PT uniform.  After formation, I went to Burger King and got some breakfast.  We had German Band rehearsal for about an hour and then we were pretty much done for the day.  We had a release formation at 1030!!  After I was done with the little bit of admin stuff I had to do, I headed home, getting gas in the Harley on my way.  It was nice riding again today finally!

Once home, I got my beginning of the month bills taken care of and then I got a much-needed shower and a nap.  After my nap, I crocheted a little Christmas stocking ornament for the bazaar that is a month away, and then got into uniform and headed to pick Robert up.  I headed out to post and left Robert with my baby sitter for the evening.  Tonight was Oktoberfest and that’s what we’ve been rehearsing for.  We played for a little over an hour straight, and we did the Chicken Dance three times.  My part wasn’t super important, so I went out and got the crowd dancing – the last time, I got the Garrison Commander (of the full-bird Colonel variety) out on the floor!!  Then we got our stuff off the stage and they did their official part and then we had dinner.  We waited until everyone else had gone through the line, but there was plenty of food, and GOOD food, left.  Eventually we left and I gave one of the guys a ride home as we were provided beer.  Of course, I didn’t have any.  We all got steins and I had mine full the whole time we were playing and eating – with water.  🙂  It was a really good gig and TONS of fun, but now I’m exhausted and ready for bed.

Today’s high:  91
Current:  76
