This morning we got up and got Robert off to school. Then Ryan headed off to do a ride with the American Legion Riders – it was to escort a fallen Marine from the funeral home to the cemetery. There were about 50 or so motorcycle riders with American flags and Marine Corps flags on their bikes to do the escort. I headed to Walmart to pick up the birthday gift that Rick got for Robert – he ordered it and had it delivered to our Walmart. After I got that, I stopped at Game Stop and bought a Wii Fit. Then it was back home and I got laundry going and I vacuumed the house. Then I got about 6 or so more boxes unpacked. I’m down to about 6 or 7 boxes left in the guest/craft room. Of course, now we have stacks of books all over since we don’t have a bookcase. After Ryan had been home for a little while, I headed out to Jiffy Lube to get the oil changed on my van – only 3000 miles overdo. Oops! Ryan went to the Harley store to look at a few things. Then it was home again and then to the school to get Robert. When we got home, we let him play Wii for a little while.
Then we headed out to post to the PX and we got Robert a Halloween costume – only $9!! You can’t make something for that. Then we went to the commissary for their case lot sale. Talk about some GOOD deals!!! After we were done shopping, we went to the cleaners/alterations shop to pick up my Class A jacket, which was NOT there. The lady had put down Tuesday for pick up instead of Friday and it wasn’t done and hadn’t been delivered (the cleaning is done elsewhere). WHAT????? I have a Class A inspection at 0900 Tuesday morning. She made some phone calls, tracked down my uniform, and let me know that it could be done for tomorrow. And luckily I can pick it up off post (that’s where they have the cleaning done at – and that’s where I all be going directly from now on). They’ll call me tomorrow when it’s done. And it’s going to be free because of my inconvenience. So that’s a good thing. But still, if you assure a Soldier that her uniform will be ready on Friday, don’t write down Tuesday on the ticket. After that, we realized that we hadn’t looked for frosting supplies at the commissary, so back we went and got what we needed and then headed home to get the frozen burritos into the freezer at home. Then we headed out to a Mexican restaurant that we saw on our way home. Definitely a do-again place!!!! Great food, decent prices, and live music! They had 3 guys playing guitars and singing. It was really neat. I don’t know if it’s just a Friday night thing, or what, but we’ll still be going back there for the food. Then it was home again, only to realize that we hadn’t gone to a grocery store for the rest of the frosting stuff we needed. We’ll just have to go in the morning.
We spent the evening watching TV and I stitched. Time for bed now.
