This morning after breakfast at the hotel and getting the van loaded again, we headed back to Minnesota and then west all the way across MN and into South Dakota. The welcome center was really nice and the guy at the desk was very knowledgeable about the area that we are going to. He gave us a map and all kinds of information. We took a little break and walked around a little bit and Robert saw a little gopher poking his head up out of his hole. I got a picture with my camera. Then he came out of the hole and Robert had some fun chasing him around. I suppose they’re somewhat used to people. Other than a TON of road construction, our drive was pretty uneventful. The speed limit in SD is 75 mph, so it was kind of nice going really fast and doing it legally. We stopped in Wall and went to a little tourist place they have. Lots of neat stuff and we got a few pictures there. That was nice to have a little break from driving – I think we were there for about an hour. And then it was on to Hot Springs and our Motel 6 that we’re staying at. It’s a fairly new hotel and for a Motel 6, it’s pretty nice. They have a pool and our room is decent sized. After checking in and getting everything up to our room, we went to a little restaurant for dinner and then back to the hotel to use the pool. The pool is a little small, but it wasn’t bad. Robert even jumped off the edge into our arms and he "swam" a little as well (Daddy supporting his belly). Maybe, just maybe, he’s starting to get over his fear of water bigger than a bathtub.
Off to bed now – lots to see and do tomorrow.
