We got up this morning and checked out of the hotel and headed to Post so I could sign out on leave. Then we headed off Ft. Drum for the last time and to the Unicorn for breakfast for the last time. I’m going to miss that place – such good food and good prices. Then it was off to pick up the cats from the vet and to the weigh station to get our FULL van weighed. We stopped at the Cable place on our way into Watertown to cancel the cable and turn in their equipment. Then to the rental management place to bring them the keys to our house. He had a Soldier (SSG) going to look at it later in the day. Keeping our fingers crossed. . . And then to Michaels for an activity book for Robert and to Payless to look for sandals for me since my old ones finally died after about 4 years of wearing them. Nope. Nothing. I will keep looking. And then we hit the road. Ft. Drum and Watertown in our rearview mirror!! We stopped about halfway for a late lunch and then on to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, and found our hotel. We got settled in and let the cats out of their carriers. We went to the pool for a bit – it was advertised as a heated outdoor pool. Well, it was outdoors, but not heated. We did play in the water for a little while though. Then it was in for warm showers to warm up and after some computer time for us big people and playing for Robert, we walked about 3/4 mile to IHOP for breakfast. An interesting fact. . . There are only 3 IHOPs in Canada; 2 in Quebec and the one here. This is the first one in Ontario, so that was kind of cool. We had a really nice waitress and lots of good food. Then we walked back to the hotel and Robert got ready for bed and I read him his bedtime story tonight. I also had nice long chat with my friend A – looking forward to seeing here when we go through Albuquerque, NM.
Off to bed now. . .
