This morning we got up and ready for church. Before we left, I practiced my piece that I would be playing at church. As I was practicing, I realized I had missed a line of music when I was writing it out. Oops. So I had to use the hymnal and jump back and forth. We headed off to our last Sunday at the Carthage Church of the Nazarene. The pastor did a special prayer for me and Ryan and Robert as we begin our journey to Arizona. I played Patriotic Medley (a medley I arranged with Battle Hymn of the Republic and America, the Beautiful) during the offering. After the service we were given many hugs and handshakes and told we would be missed. And Pastor *might* be buying Ryan’s truck!! That would be cool. After the service, we headed to the Golden Unicorn for lunch after a stop at the hardware store for a hammer. All of Ryan’s got packed. After lunch it was home to get to work (after changing out of church clothes). Ryan got the 3rd coat on the ceiling in Robert’s room, painted the closet in the craft room, got the dining room and computer room touched up, and scraped paint from around the outside of the kitchen window. Whoever painted it did a piss-poor job and there was paint all over the glass. It looks much better now. I finished the porch, and boy does that look good! I’ll take some pics tomorrow when it’s light out. We do have one spot still to do, but it was too high for me to reach and we had to wait until the paint is dry to do it. And then to get the flag bracket and thermometer back up.
I got a bunch of stuff listed on Freecycle – our TV, entertainment center, tv tables, cat tower, and a few other things – and within 5 minutes I already had an e-mail back for a few of the things. We headed out to Watertown to watch the Watertown Wizards play a baseball game. It was free entrance tonight, and the food at the concession stand is reasonably priced, so it was a good evening. And we got to watch a great baseball game, and even better since the Wizards won 5-2!! One Wizard even hit an out-of-the-park homerun. After the game they had a really good fireworks display that lasted about 15 minutes. It didn’t take very long to get out of the parking area and on the road home. We got Robert into bed and I’ll be heading up that way very soon.
