After PT formation this morning, I headed out on a 3.37 mile run. I ran my old usual route – to the fence and back. It took me 34:17, a 10:10 pace. I started out WAY too fast and that hurt my overall pace a little. I’m hoping that by the time I leave here in 2 months I can have my time for that route down to about 31:00. We’ll see. After I finished my run and had walked for a little bit, I did some walking lunges. I’m going to start doing those 2 or 3 times a week to help strengthen my legs. Then it was home to see my guys off to school, get changed into ACUs, eat breakfast, pack my lunch, and do a bit of computer stuff. And then it was back to the band hall for formation. Ceremonial Band was on the schedule, but that didn’t happen. I did take my horn out and played for a little over an hour. I definitely need to spend some time on my horn everyday. Six weeks off my horn was a very long time.
I stitched for a little while during lunch, and then I brushed my teeth good and headed to the dentist for my annual cleaning. It didn’t go too bad for a change. Then I went and got a copy of Robbie’s shot records from the medical clinic and then to the Child & Youth Services office to get his shot records updated. It turned out that he had expired and now I have to go through the whole registration process again. It’s not bad, just a lot of paperwork to fill out. I headed back to the band hall and got the paperwork filled out and did a few other things. That took up most of the afternoon, and pretty soon it was time to leave. Ryan and Robbie met me at the band hall and we went to the PX to get dress clothes for them – Ryan has a Sports Awards banquet tomorrow night and then the dress clothes will also be worn to my cousin Amanda’s wedding next month. Then it was back to get Ryan’s truck and we went to the Golden Unicorn for dinner since it was already into dinnertime. Once we got home, Robbie played for a little before heading up to bed and then I crocheted.
Off to bed early for me tonight!
