I slept in a little this morning to try and rest my eye some more.  It’s feeling much better now and looks almost normal (it’s been swollen a little).  After breakfast it was off to the band hall for formation.  We had Brass Quintet rehearsal this morning and that went well although you can definitely tell that we haven’t played together as an ensemble for a while.  But we’ll get the cohesion back.  After lunch I tried to do the uniform replacement orders, but the site was too busy – and of course, it was starting to cooperate about 15 minutes before I had to go salsa rehearsal.  Salsa went well even though our conga player couldn’t make it today and the other trombone player wasn’t there either.  It was still lots of fun, and I’m looking forward to our first gig which is coming up this month!  After rehearsal I checked my e-mail a last time and then headed home.  I didn’t even stop at the chow hall – there was quite a bit of munchies that came in the mail in the past day or so and I was kind of grazing from the boxes of yummies.  After a shower and changing into PTs, I took out  my stitching and I stitched on Seven Days of Creation and watched a few episodes of M*A*S*H.  Before I head to bed, I’ll leave you with a few pictures.

I finished this Tuesday evening while on CQ.  It’s called Kitty Cat Row and it’s by Bent Creek.

And here’s a little “friend” that was watching me practice a few days ago.

Today’s high:  111
