I WAY didn’t get up to run this morning. I didn’t get up until almost 0740. I did have a little bit of time to chat with Ryan while I was getting ready though, and that’s always a nice way to start my day! After breakfast I headed to the band hall for formation and a long day of not much. I had a few little supply things to do but that was it. I finally got a stapler and tape dispenser and sticky notes for my office. After lunch was more of the same, and then I got my horn out for an hour and did some playing. It’s still not pretty, and today was kind of frustrating because I didn’t really hear any improvement. But I know it will take time and I’ll get it back eventually. I just need to remember baby steps.
After work I accepted my punishment (given by me) for not getting up and going running this morning. Thursdays are one of my nights where I go home and shower and have lots of time to stitch. Well, I came home and changed into PTs and went for a 2.74 mile run (in just over 30 minutes). At least it had cooled off to 113 (from 116). After I got back, I changed shirts since you can’t wear sweaty PTs in the chow hall and grabbed my weapon and headed to dinner. I had lasagne and applesauce and a Gatorade. Then it was back for a shower and hair-down time and stitching. I did manage to get an hour and a half in, but I could have had over 2 hours if I had gotten up this morning. Oh well! I also had nice chats with Ryan, D, R, and
. Now I’m finishing up e-mail and message boards and heading to bed. I will get up in the morning to run as I’m meeting up with a friend (not NJ) at 0530.
Today’s High: 116
Current: 100 (10:10 p.m.)
Good luck tomorrow on your run! That’s great that you still ran today even if you didn’t get it out of the way as early as you would have liked. đŸ™‚
Thanks! I hope to have a good report for you when you get back from your trip.
