Yesterday was a very good day. We all went to the sunrise service at 6:30, and the sun actually ROSE near the end of the service! That was really neat. There was a pancake breakfast after the service, and then it was home for a little while. Mom got the ham in the oven, and Robbie found the Easter eggs the Easter Bunny had hid for him. He did really well once we showed him what he was looking for – colored plastic eggs filled with fruit snacks and Goldfish crackers. The Easter Bunny also left him a basket with some more fruit snacks and Goldfish and also a new really cute outfit. Ryan and Robbie took a nap and the rest of us went back for the 10:30 service which was also good.
After church, we cleaned up the house a little, and got the tables and chairs ready for dinner. I mashed the potatoes and Ryan carved the ham. He sure loves using Mom’s electric knife! LOL There were 19 here for dinner – all of Mom’s family and Dad’s parents. There was lots of good food, and it was great seeing everyone again, knowing I won’t see them at Christmas this year since I’ll be deployed. After everyone had left, and we had gotten everything cleaned up and put away, it was time to relax. Robbie went to bed about 6 because he had gotten up so early and had an early nap. I got some stitching done, and we watched TV.
Today was another relaxing day. We went to the Post Office and the local drugstore to run a few errands. During Robbie’s nap I did some of Mom’s ironing – she has a HUGE pile of stuff that needs to be done, and I’m going to work on it while I’m here. I did 45 minutes today and made a good sized dent in the pile. I also got a little bit of stitching done, but then I ended up falling asleep on the couch so I got a little nap as well. After Robbie woke up, he went for a walk with Grampa to get the paper, and after leftovers for supper (Mom had Choral Society, so she wasn’t home), Robbie and Ryan and I went outside and played for about 1/2 hour. I bet he sleeps good tonight with all that fresh air today! After he was in bed, I chatted with a friend for a while and then went and stitched. After Mom got home we had chocolate pudding pie for dessert – I had made that earlier today.
