Good weekend!!

Saturday Ryan & I attended the wedding of one of my soldiers, SGT Vince Lawyer. He and the men of the wedding party wore their Army Dress Blue uniforms and the Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid wore navy blue dresses. Julie, the bride, wore a beautiful white strapless dress with a short train. The reception afterwards was a cake and champagne one – very nice! The new couple danced to one song as they had been taking ballroom dancing lessons and wanted to show off.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing around the house. Ryan grilled steaks for dinner and I made mashed potatoes and corn to go with them. Then he worked on the transmission of his Cushman motor scooter and I stitched.

Today we went to church and after the service we had a congregational meeting to vote whether we should offer a call to our prospective pastor. The congregation voted in favor of calling him! He now has 30 days to accept our offer and if he accepts, he has to give 30 days notice to his current congregation. It probably won’t be until after Easter if he comes here. After doing some grocery shopping for the week, we came home and did the usual – tv, stitching, playing with Robbie, etc. Ryan didn’t have bowling due to the Super Bowl, which we watched. It was a very good game. I got quite a bit of stitching done during the game.
